Chapter 132
A song of ascents. Remember, O LORD, for David all his afflictions. 1 A Song of Ascents. Remember, LORD, for David all his oppression. 2 if I come into the tent of my house, if I go up on the couch of my bed; 3 If I give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids, 4 until I find a place for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob. 5 Look, we heard of it in Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of the forest. 6 Behold, we heard of it at Ephrathah; we found it in the fields of the forest. 7 Arise, O LORD, to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength. 8 Arise, O LORD, to your rest, you and the ark of your strength. Let your priests clothe themselves with righteousness, and let your faithful ones shout for joy. 9 For the sake of David your servant, do not turn away the face of your anointed one. 10 The LORD swore to David in truth; he will not turn back from it: "From the fruit of your belly I will set upon your throne." 11 If your sons keep my covenant and this testimony that I teach them, their sons too will sit upon your throne forever. 12 For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place. 13 This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for he has chosen Zion; he has loved it for a dwelling for himself. 14 This is my rest forever; here I will dwell, because I have desired her. 15 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her faithful ones will shout for joy; they will shout for joy. 16 There I will cause a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my anointed one. 17 There I will cause a horn to sprout for David; I have prepared a lamp for my Messiah.
